Internet Dating Tips
Ever think about Internet dating? Ever tried it?
We have. After years of Internet dating, we have come up with some
helpful tips for you to be smart about dating someone online.
There is a growing trend to date someone via the Internet. Why? It’s
safe, or so you think. Look, it never hurts to be too careful. If
you stop and think about it...everyone on these dating sites are simply
trying to "sell" themselves and portray themselves to be "the best
person for you." Below are a few helpful hints that may make your
online dating experience a more pleasant one.
After E-mails have been exchanged and possibly phone numbers...start
taking notes.
- In general conversation, get them to tell you their full name.
If you are unsure of the spelling, ask how to spell it.
(You can simply tell them that you are curious about their nationality,
you wish to send them an e-card or you would like to put them
in your address book.)
- You need to learn their approximate age. If you don’t know,
ASK them.
(Remember Internet chatting is like having numerous interviews
before you decide to meet the person in real life.)
- Ask if they like to travel..this hopefully will get them to
talk about different states they have lived in or visited.
(Are you still keeping notes?)
- If you have decided to meet this person in real life, please
make sure that it is in a PUBLIC PLACE...and then once you find
him/her in the crowd and you have exchanged your "hello’s", the
next move is to ask them to see their DRIVER’S LICENSE. This is
your MOMENT to double-check their name and age.*
(If they refuse to show you, then common sense tells you that
they are hiding something...HUGE red flags should be waiving at
this point).
*Keep in mind that if a person is out to harm you or has ulterior
motives, chances are, they are NOT going to give you their real
name and age.
